Corporate Social responsibility - [CSR]

At Beroe, we believe that it's equally important to give back to the society. Which is why, we believe some of our finest achievements aren't those found in our balance sheets but those spent with the underprivileged. Just increasing the turnover of Beroe and showing profits in business is not the only criterion that decides our performance. CSR activities have a deciding role to play in our brand image. Our employees feel proud of being associated with Beroe, as it not only makes profit but also understands its responsibility towards the society and discharges it faithfully. Our CSR activities are conducted in a wide range of areas like socio-economic, education, health, etc.

In the month of April, we visited the Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Centre, part of Ambattur Rotary hospital, as one of our CSR initiatives. Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Centre is part of an ongoing community project of the Rotary Club of Ambattur since Sep 2007. We spoke to the multi-disciplinary team which undertakes the rehabilitation of cerebral palsy patients; this center takes a very small amount of Rs. 100 towards registration of the children and the rest of the expenses are purely from the contributions by philanthropists. This center treats children from the age group of 8 months to 17 years. We met the physician Dr. Feroz Khan; who briefed us on the affects of cerebral palsy and also the methods/techniques used to correct it. Our contribution of Rs 30,300 was handed over to Mr Sugumaran, Trustee of “Bal-Sanjeevani centre” for treatment of the children. We had an opportunity to spend time with the children and also distributed gifts to them. We were deeply moved by the challenges these young children face and their determination to succeed.
