Research Analyst - Procurement / Purchasing
Job Description
The Research/commodity analyst would be required to perform extensive research on for example the supply-demand-price of select commodities on a global basis , build/aid in providing information to build several forecast models based on the collected information. In short, the analyst has to understand the entire value chain / supply chain of the commodity.
A more detailed look into the work profile (this may not be exhaustive):
- Identification of sources of information(secondary and primary sources )
- Extraction of information/content extraction through the sources of information.
- Thorough understanding of the commodity under research.(The production process and other generic technical details of the commodity)
- Identification of various drivers of the commodity under research - cost/demand/price drivers.
- Determination of the economic behavior of the supply/demand/price of the commodity.
- Identification of experts for the commodity and key extraction of information.
- Competitive analysis of major suppliers of the commodity.
- Industry analysis.
- Use of various strategic frameworks to determine competitive positioning.
- Forecasts - Industry trends and more.
- Impact determination – macroeconomics/logistics/supply chain/disruptions/legislation/taxes on the supply and price of the commodity
- Providing inputs towards price forecasts – ( quantitative information/factors to support the price forecast of the commodity)
Eligibility/Candidate Profile
- Relevant experience (Research experience – Not financial) of 1.5 years or more.
- Excellent communication skills. Should be capable of handling a variety of communication channels (telephone, e-mail, in-person, etc.)
- Strong analytical, presentation writing Skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, while ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Qualified candidates must possess excellent analytic skills, logical reasoning and problem solving skills
- Strong familiarity in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- A creative & out of the box thinker will be ideal for this role, he /she should be able to value & effective suggestions to the client.

- Undergraduate /Post Graduate in a pharma degree.
- Mandatory work experience : 1+ years of work experience as research analyst/ associate (work experience would be preferred)
- Sound procurement knowledge (both commercial and technical) on API (active pharma ingredients) and excipients.
- API and Excipient knowledge is a must.
- API sourcing experience would be a plus.
- Should be capable of handling a variety of communication channels (telephone, e-mail, in-person, etc.)

Job Description
- Should monitor, analyze logistics industry trends, players, prices on daily basis.
- Would prepare periodic reports (individual internal / external client’s requirement).
- End to end research on logistics.
- Single point of contact across verticals for logistics related queries.
- Analyze the costing & sourcing of the goods in inter/intra national route.
- Should interact with experts and firms in the logistics chain to gather market information.
Eligibility/Candidate Profile
- Candidates with engineering background with an MBA(specialization : Supply Chain/Logistics) or any other logistics certification.
- Should have worked in the field of logistics (Freight forwarder, custom agents)/shipping company for 2-3 years.
- Must have excellent knowledge in international ocean freight trends & routes, containership trends, 3PL/4PL.
- Any certificate course in Logistics/ Supply Chain management is preferred.

Macro Economic Analyst
Job Description
- Will work in building statistical models to determine global economic cycles.
- Complete research on the dynamics of global economy and its relation to various financial markets.
- Will work on quantifying the impact of macroeconomic performance on a particular industry.
- Should be able to identify the lead and lag indicators for a particular industry.
- Should have knowledge on identifying the sources of relevant macroeconomic data for various commodities/industries.
- Should have knowledge on advanced techniques used in time series analysis.
- Would play an active part in price forecasting.
Eligibility/Candidate Profile
- PHD/Mphil in economics ( Macro economics emphasis)
- In-depth understanding of macroeconomic indicators like GDP, Interest rates, forex reserves, trade balance, income levels etc.
- Should be well versed with software packages for statistics like SPSS.
- Must have worked on predictive models and time series analysis.
